Golden Heart is like dog heaven! Their brand new, clean facilities are spacious and secure. Dogs are given time outside to play multiple times a day, and after a careful introduction, if all goes well, they're able to play with other dogs who are staying, as well as the kennel owners, who have extensive experience in caring for and providing training for dogs. I know when I leave my dog, he's in good hands at Golden Heart!

My name is Deb Turner, and my husband Tom and I are thrilled that a new professional boarding and training business has come to Montrose! 

We have known Becca since she was a teenager, when she helped us train a troublesome rescue dog. Even back then her passion and commitment to dogs and their relationship with their owners were obvious. Over the years our mutual love of dogs has brought us all close together as friends, and meeting Michael and getting to know him has been a blessing. 

Becca's education and extensive training experience, along with their excitement and dedication in starting this new business venture make Golden Heart Canine an excellent choice for both boarding and training. We boarded our two dogs recently for the first time, and we were very pleased with the care they received.

Eighteen months after adopting our 2 year old mixed breed dog, Laddie, he was still anxious and reactive around new people and dogs and had separation anxiety; all of which was exacerbated by the lack of social interaction during COVID. We decided to enroll him in Golden Heart Canine’s 30 day board and train program. This was not an easy decision, but we could not be happier with the result. Laddie’s confidence, maturity and obedience has improved greatly. He is now a much happier dog. Becca Murphy and her wonderful staff are pleasant, skilled and a blessing to have in our community. Laddie now enjoys spending time with his new friends at Doggie Day Camp. We will definitely board him at Golden Heart when we travel.
In summary, we are extremely pleased with the warm, loving and personal care provided. We applaud the expertise and professionalism of all the staff of this exceptional facility.

Located just minutes from town, this is a family owned business that is top-notch from "top to bottom."

Our rescue dog, Freddie, has separation anxiety issues.  He was obviously comfortably at home at Golden Heart from the very beginning.  Becca (owner, trainer, dog lover) met us with a warm smile the first day and every time since. She is 100% hands on! She even takes photos of Freddie during playtime and posts them!

Freddie loves to be dropped off and is wonderfully tired at pick up time.

We will be overnight boarding soon with no qualms whatsoever and will start agility training with Becca in March!

Beautiful setting! Individual attention! Closely monitored frequent playtimes!

I 100% recommend Becca and Michael. We took our Newfoundland puppy there for a 4 week board and train and they laid his foundation down to start his work as a therapy dog. He knows so many commands and is the star puppy in his puppy class he’s supposed to take for his therapy dog training. Brady would not be where he is today without Becca. We also took our golden retrievers to Becca when they were younger (now they are 7 and 8) and they are the best, well mannered dogs. She treats your dogs like her own, and handles them so well. I wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else. I drove them all the way from Colorado Springs and would do it again for the next dog. Thank you Becca!
